Baahubali The Conclusion will finally cede its hold on Indian Box Office where it’s Pirates looking for that Honor. This week will see release of docu-drama Sachin A Billion Dreams and a few other regional flicks.
Pirates of the Caribbeans : Dead Men Tell no Tales is tracking for a weekend of ₹30-32cr in India which will be double of Stranger’s Tides’ weekend, released in 2011 and just a bit short of latter’s lifetime. Film was probably 4th or 5th Biggest Hollywood franchise in India back in 2011 but the gap of 6 years coupled with not so good early reports of film, it will be not opening to its potential. However it may still surprise by a higher debut but that’s unlikely.
For second place, Baahubali 2 and Sachin will be facing off for second place, with both aiming for a low 20s debut. Sachin being a docu drama doesn’t have much scope but the name Sachin Tendulkar attached with film give it a chance. While Baahubali 2 will be having another 50-55% drop from last weekend for ₹20-23cr. Earlier on Monday, film grossed ₹1500cr Globally, just another first for the film.
For the next 3 places it will be toss between Hindi Medium, Half Girlfriend and Telugu film Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam looking at ₹12-13cr weekend. Hindi Medium will be having best hold with drop of mere 15-20% from its debut. Elsewhere in limited release, Punjabi film Saab Bahadur is looking at ₹7-8cr weekend from some 200 odd prints.
